How to Dye Eggs in 10 Minutes!

There are many dishes that call for vibrant dyed eggs, here is a quick and easy recipe to achieve beautifully colored eggs.

“Mom, this is so fun!”, is what my 4-year old said after I showed him how to dye eggs last week. No lies about that though, it is fun to dye eggs, especially when it is done in literally 10 minutes! You should check out this Italian Easter bread that uses colored eggs too.

Although it is popular, it is not only Easter season that may require you to use colored eggs. There are many dishes that may require the beauty of dyed eggs.

You only need 4 ingredients. It requires a quick mix of boiling water, coloring and vinegar. The eggs are immersed for about 5 minutes and boom!

What you Need to Dye Eggs

  • Hot boiling water
  • Eggs
  • Food Coloring- this recipe is with regular food coloring. If using gel, 2-4 drops of coloring is al you need per cup.

How to Dye Eggs

Dying Easter Eggs has got to be one of those activities I consider fun to do. You can achieve beautifully colored eggs in under 10 minutes using this simple 4-ingredient recipe.

Equipment

  • 4 cups these could be ceramic, disposable or plastic. It must be made of material that can hold hot boiling water.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 eggs raw or cooked
  • 4 tsp vinegar
  • 4 cups hot boiling water
  • 2-3 food colorings different colors preferably

Instructions
 

  • Heat up 5 cups of water in an electric kettle or on a stove and let it come to a boil.
  • Pour one cup of the boiled water each into the 4 cups.
  • Add a tsp of vinegar and 10 drops of the food colorings in each of the cups.
  • Insert one egg in each colored cup of water for 5 minutes. Take them out and lay on a flat surface to dry.
